I finally installed a belly mower today after replacing one of the metal hydraulic lines because of an interference with the mount for the mower. After all was done, I found the mid pto would not engage. This was after declutching, engaging the pto and releasing the clutch. The rear pto has always worked, but today was the first day I tried the mid pto. Thanks for any suggestions.

I believe the rear PTO must be engaged before the mid PTO will operate, have you tried that? ....

Man, that would be a pain. I currently own a Cub Cadet and the Rear and Mid PTO's are independant of one another. Wonder why they would link them together. (might have been easier to run the gears that way.)
If the mid and rear do not need to both be engaged try checking to see if there is a switch. Some Tractors have an electric clutch that engages when the switch is activated. Don't know if Kubota has that or not. But just a thought. I know my Cub is activated mechanically and not with an electric clutch.

Mr. Jacobs,
Thanks for your post. You are correct. Kubota specifically warns against using the rear and mid ptos to run implements at the same time. Since I usually have a sickle bar hung on the 3 point, it never occurred to me that it was OK to engage both ptos. Just don't have an implement loading the rear pto.
The mid pto and belly mower worked fine.
Thanks again, Darren ....
